Abstract: In these lectures, the Hyperspherical Harmonics (HH) method, used to study the structure and dynamics of few-body systems, is briefly introduced. Applications to few-nucleon systems will be discussed, but also some results obtained in atomic and molecular systems will be presented.The final part of the lectures will be devoted to the study of three-nucleon forces (3NFs).

 Lecture1:
Aug.20th 14:00-15:30 
Introduction to few-body systems, general overview of the theoretical methods developed for their study. 
Brief introduction to the nucleon-nucleon interaction. 
Introduction to the HH method: the hyperradius and the hyperangular variables; the HH functions; the transformation coefficients; the adiabatic HH method.

Lecture2:
Aug. 20th 16:00-17:30
Applications of the HH method to calculate the properties of bound states and to study scattering processes; case of study: A=4 scattering; treatment of the long range Coulomb force; the 3 and 4 neutron systems.

Lecture3:
Aug.21st 14:00-15:30
Introduction to the 3NFs; the 3NFs in chiral and pionless effective field theory; the low-energy coupling constants; leading and subleading terms: effect of the 3NFs in A=3 and 4 systems.

[国際レクチャーシリーズ]
2018年度から発足した新学術領域「量子クラスターで読み解く物質階層構造」（領域代表者：中村隆司）では、総括班、および理論班の活動の一貫として国際レクチャーシリーズを開催し、ハドロン・原子核・原子・分子のそれぞれの分野における精鋭の研究者に3コマ（1コマ：90分）程度の講義をお願いし、その分野の重要な物理を、実験・理論問わず大学院生や異分野の研究者にもわかりやすく紹介していただきます。 第７回は、上述のとおり、8月20,21日にオンラインで開催します。興味のある方は是非、ご参加ください。
