Foreign Graduate-Student Invitation Program
(Nuclear and Hadron Physics)
at Tokyo Institute of Technology, May-June 2007

A special student program for Ph.D-course students of nuclear and hadron physics from abroad is planned at Tokyo Institute of Technology(Tokyo Tech) in May-June 2007. The program includes the symposium "Frontiers and Perspectives of Nuclear and Hadron Physics (FPNH07)", held at the O-Okayama campus of Tokyo Tech in Tokyo on June 11th and 12th, and an extended stay for further discussions with local Ph.D students according to the FGIP program at the department of physics at Tokyo Tech.

This symposium is held just after the International Nuclear Physics Conference (INPC) in Tokyo. Beforehand, at RIKEN, the Symposium on the Direct Reactions with Exotic Beams DREB2007 is also held.

Students who will join this program are expected to give a presentation at the symposium at Tokyo Tech. About 10 Ph.D students from abroad will be selected for this program based on the evaluation according to the FGIP program.

A Full support for the travel expenses is given to the selected students from abroad. They can stay in the guest house of Tokyo Tech or alternative hotel for up to one month including the DREB and INPC period. One of the following professors will be the host professor: K.Asahi, T.Nakamura (experimental nuclear physics), T.-A.Shibata (experimental hadron physics), M. Oka (theoretical hadron physics), and K.Muto (theoretical nuclear physics). The students are expected to collaborate with the host professors during their stay.
If you would like to join this program, please first send a pre-registration form below by e-mail to fgipnp"at"mail.nucl.ap.titech.ac.jp. Then, later, you are expected to submit the formal documents according to the fgip program (Check this page first. Forms can be obtained from here. Go there and click "How to apply?". The deadline of the submission of those forms is March 31, 2007. The submission is expected to be done by e-mail
at fgipnp"at"mail.nucl.ap.titech.ac.jp.
Looking forward to seeing you, then.
